VP Networks' New Bandwidth Aggregator and Link Aggregator Provides More Bandwidth to Networks

VP Networks announced immediate availability of the BA-4000 broadband aggregator, a bandwidth aggregator which load balances multiple ISP connections into one fat pipe with automatic failover. The link aggregator can be used on any network to provide more bandwidth and continuous Internet availability, in the event an individual ISP connection goes down.

The BA-4000 bandwidth aggregator does session-based link aggregation which means user traffic is continually balanced to maintain the full aggregate combined bandwidth of the separate ISP connections.

In addition, the bandwidth aggregator can bind public static IPs to one WAN port so that traffic is routed to the correct ISP, while still aggregating all other user traffic. The broadband aggregator supports clients' VPN connections and other highly secure applications when used in conjunction with VP Networks' NC-3560 gateway controller.

The high performance and low cost of the bandwidth aggregator breaks a new price barrier for link load balancers. The link balancer provides up to 200 Mbps aggregate throughput across 3 Ethernet WAN links plus a 3G connection. The ability to combine multiple ISPs into one fat pipe lowers bandwidth costs and improves Internet availability for hotels, MDU/MTU, SME, SOHO, and other networks.

Built-in Quality of Service and rules based policy routing gives the bandwidth aggregator triple play support for VoIP, video, and data.

"We are using the BA-4000 bandwidth aggregator to give hotels and offices more bandwidth and automatic failover by combining multiple ISPs at a location. We tested a variety of products and found the BA-4000 gives a superior price/performance. This helps our customers achieve higher bandwidth at lower cost", says Hitesh Patel of United Solution, a major network solution provider serving hospitality and other markets.

In the hospitality market, the BA-4000 link aggregator is gaining early market share due to high demand and good price. According to David Grissom of VP Networks, "Hotels need to meet the skyrocketing bandwidth demands of their guests and the proliferation of Wi-Fi devices calls for 'always on' Internet availability. High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) is the most important hotel guest amenity today. In fact, many hotels are now mandated by their corporate brands to use link load balancers. Yet in today's tough economy, this must be provided affordably and the BA-4000 fulfills this need".
