ADTRAN announces expansion of carrier ethernet product portfolio
ADTRAN has announced an expansion of its carrier ethernet product portfolio.
ADTRAN has unveiled a new series of MEF-compliant access gateways that reportedly deliver high-performance ethernet to support diverse, multi-site connectivity. The solutions are an alternative to fiber and microwave build-outs or SDH/SONET access tariffs by leveraging existing infrastructure which speeds delivery of the sought after Ethernet service segment (100Mbps), the company said.
ADTRAN's new high-performance ethernet solutions include NetVanta 868 Carrier Ethernet Access Gateway optimized for large enterprises; NetVanta 850 Carrier Ethernet Access Gateway optimized for infrastructure backhaul; and Total Access 1424S-CE Carrier Ethernet Access Gateway optimized for remote offices.
"Business Ethernet services are a driving force behind our customer's growth plans," said Robert Conger, product line manager, ADTRAN Carrier Networks Division. "ADTRAN is committed to delivering the most versatile, most automated carrier-grade Ethernet solutions in support of this tremendous growth opportunity. Our ability to help service providers reach any customer, over any network is a key part of ADTRAN's vision."
