Stonesoft has introduced two new firewall appliances specifically designed to meet the security needs of today's most demanding high-capacity environments. The new StoneGate FW-5201 and FW-5205 appliances are Stonesoft's latest addition to its family of modular network security appliances, which include built-in high availability capabilities for always-on network connectivity. The appliances double the number of available interface card slots compared to the previous models in the StoneGate 3200 Series, thus offering customers increased flexibility. 

The StoneGate FW-5201 FW/VPN appliance is a firewall solution designed to meet the performance and scalability requirements of data centers, large network central sites, managed service provider or other operator environments demanding performance up to 20 Gbps, while the StoneGate FW-5205 appliance supports up to 50 Gbps.

Both firewall devices are scalable modular appliances featuring six interface card slots with support of up to 38-gigabit ethernet interfaces or up to six 10-gigabit interfaces together with 20 one-gigabit interfaces. The number of available interface card offers increased flexibility compared to the previous appliance models. Different interface modules provide fast and flexible network segmentation at the perimeter or internal networks requiring high performance.

Like all StoneGate firewall solutions, the new StoneGate FW-5201 and FW-5205 devices combine reliable data security with high availability features that guarantee continuous information flow. Built-in firewall clustering, server load balancing and the possibility to utilize reserve capacity on overloaded Internet connections ensure continuous network connectivity for today's complex, critical networks.
