STEC to Sponsor and Participate at OpenStorage Summit 2011 as a Nexenta Systems Technology Partner

STEC announced that the company is a sponsor and will participate in this year's OpenStorage Summit hosted by Nexenta Systems, and held at the Wyndham Hotel in San Jose, California, beginning today.

Highlighting STEC's sponsorship and participation at this year's event will be a technical presentation by STEC Senior Product Marketing Manager, Swapna Yasarapu, titled "A Full Overview of SSD Technology and How They are Used to Extract Extreme Performance." In addition, STEC, a Nexenta Technology Partner, will also showcase a collaborative solution at the STEC stand that demonstrates the performance and total cost advantages when using DataON's Storage NX2260-Z system with Nexenta's flash-aware NexentaStor software in combination with STEC's ZeusRAM and ZeusIOPS SSDs as write and read caches.

"The OpenStorage Summit is a good opportunity for our company to present to IT professionals, CIOs and CTOs who are looking for superior, cost-effective, high-performance solutions to solve the most complex storage issues," said Manouch Moshayedi, STEC's Chairman and CEO. "The powerful combination of a DataON storage system, NexentaStor software, and our ZeusRAM and ZeusIOPS SDDs, serves as a prime example of how we help our partners bring unique, innovative solutions to the enterprise."

"Our growth continues to accelerate because we're at the forefront of a fundamental change in the storage industry. Our ability to incorporate the leading solutions of our technology partners, such as STEC, fuels the growth of the OpenStorage Summit," said Evan Powell, Nexenta Systems' CEO. "The flexibility of our OpenStorage initiatives, and incorporating best-of-class solutions, provide an open playing field for better price to performance ratios. As our strategic SSD supplier, STEC is a key technology partner in helping us deliver this kind of differentiated value to Nexenta customers."

STEC's ZeusRAM SSD is a perfect fit for high performance computing (HPC) environments as it is particularly adept to handling metadata and logging applications. It solves the primary challenge in these environments by providing high-speed access to data while minimizing latency to a low sub-23 microseconds. This capability is especially important to network attached storage (NAS) and unified storage appliances that need high-speed access to metadata on very complex and analytical systems.

STEC's flagship ZeusIOPS SSD family is built on the company's fourth generations controller technology that delivers the most consistent, steady state input/output operations per second (IOPS) performance in real-world storage environments. These SSDs provides long-lasting reliability, increased server utilization and reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) in the data center by providing a high-performance drop-in replacement for enterprise hard disk drives (HDDs). They also provide more functionality in a smaller footprint while reducing overall platform cost and power consumption.

STEC leverages almost two decades of enterprise solid-state knowledge and experience to deliver the most comprehensive line of SSDs to the storage industry.
