HP Unveils Z210 Workstation and New EliteBook w-series for Professionals

HP kicked off "Forefront Workstations Launch" event in Mumbai with the unveiling of its new Z210 CMT and SFF Workstations, 8460w, 8560w and 8760w EliteBook Mobile Workstations. The announcement demonstrated HP's commitment to meet real time business demands and provide maximum reliability and performance for the most demanding professional tasks.

The workstations will be launched across four cities (Sydney, Mumbai, Beijing and Korea) from May 2-13, 2011.

"Built for professionals, the HP Z210 workstations with the new Intel Xeon processor E3 1200 family are changing the definition of the entry-level workstation," said Ravichandran R- Director, Sales & Marketing, Intel South Asia."This processor's greatest innovation is how it integrates the CPU and graphics engines on the same die. That means visual and 3-D graphics capabilities that were once only available to entry workstation users with discrete graphics cards will now be accessible to anyone with an entry workstation powered by the Intel Xeon E3 family with Intel HD Graphics P3000(1)," he adds.

"HP continues to demonstrate innovation, performance and reliability through the Z210 Workstation and the EliteBook Mobile Workstations. Engineered with customers in mind, HP workstations pass through rigorous testing and certification with key professional and software vendors to help ensure reliable performance," said Anneliese Olson, Vice President, Client Solutions, Accessories and Services business for the Personal Systems Group, HP Asia Pacific and Japan.

"India is a very important market for us. The country is witnessing a paradigm shift in recent times, spurred by a buoyant economy and constantly evolving market dynamics. The booming sectors, including that of digital content creation, manufacturing, architecture, engineering and construction are demanding computing systems that guarantees optimum performance and reliability. HP's workstations are perfectly poised to address this burgeoning demand.

The new HP Z210 SFF Workstation hits new price points, making it affordable for small & mid-sized customers to benefit from the power of professional Workstations. Even desktop customers can now spend a little more to move up to professional workstations for enhanced performance & reliability.

We are confident that this innovative range of solutions from HP's portfolio will go a long way in helping organizations meet their business needs efficiently and effectively". Vinay Awasthi, Category Director, HP PSG.

Performance and reliability for a broad range of customers

HP's market share in the desktop workstation category has grown in past quarters, culminating with a 54% for Calendar year 2010, according to industry research firm IDC.(2) HP workstations are used by customers performing computer intensive tasks in industries that require advanced computing power, application-optimized performance and world-class reliability, which include:

  • Designing the buses and trucks on the road, Formula One race cars on the tracks, and tennis shoes on your feet
  • Allowing brokers in the financial markets to make quick and accurate decisions
  • Giving customers in the oil and gas industry peace-of-mind over their mission critical IT environments
  • Enabling artists with tools to bring their creative visions to life in Hollywood blockbusters
  • Empowering teachers to bring technology to classrooms in new and engaging ways
  • Providing hospitals with revolutionary new solutions for medical imaging, improving patient care and healthcare

Raising the bar for entry-level workstations

The HP Z210 models raise the bar for entry-level workstation performance while providing workstation-class reliability at a highly affordable price.

The new HP Z210 Workstations are available in convertible mini-tower (CMT) or highly compact small form factor (SFF) options for space-constrained environments. The HP Z210 SFF is 65 percent smaller than the HP Z210 CMT. Both sizes offer the choice of high-performance, enterprise-class Intel Xeon E3 and second-generation Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processors(1), and a range of professional graphics options, including 2-D choices from AMD and NVIDIA that incorporate dual graphics card capabilities that support up to four 2-D displays. 3-D choices include next-generation processor-integrated Intel high-definition graphics that lower the entry cost for professional 3-D graphics, and entry and midrange graphics from NVIDIA and AMD.

As a leader in working to reduce the environmental impact of its products, the HP Z210 Workstations are also equipped with new technologies to help you reduce your energy usage and carbon footprint such as the HP Carbon Footprint Calculator, which allows users to see how they can reduce their environmental impact and costs of computing.
