StoneFly is Named Finalist in Storage Magazine's The Storries VIII (The Storage Awards 2011)

StoneFly announced that the StoneFlex USS appliance is a finalist for 2011 “Storage Virtualisation of the Year” award by Storage. The Storage Awards is an annual event presented by Storage Magazine, a leading data storage publication in the United Kingdom, to honor the best storage products in the industry.

StoneFly’s StoneFlex USS (which stands for: Unified Server and Storage) is a unique appliance that enables a new paradigm in data storage and management. With the ability to drive several virtualized operating systems concurrently with virtualized storage on the same platform, this solution is able to meet demanding applications by resource allocation and dynamic load balancing. This ensures complete datacenter consolidation, maximum hardware utilization, data mobility and considerable reduction of operational and capital costs (OpEx and CapEx).

Furthermore with advanced features such as thin provisioning, copy-on-write snapshots, and StoneFly’s hybrid replication technology (which offers local, campus, virtual, and cloud synchronous and asynchronous replication) the USS has all the flexibility and power to tailor any virtualized datacenter. The StoneFlex USS’ flexibility to control, manage and allocate resources between servers and storage creates a dynamic technology that allows users to easily transition to the private cloud.

“StoneFly has always applied the principles of virtualization in the development of all of its IP SAN appliances, and the USS is no exception,” says President and CEO of StoneFly, Mo Tahmasebi. “We are honored to be recognized by Storage Magazine for our virtualization efforts in the IT industry as we continue our efforts to provide high-performance storage solutions ideal for the virtualized environment.”
