Three New Members to PRACE

PRACE, the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe, got three new member countries as Denmark, Israel and Slovenia joined the PRACE Research Infrastructure in the beginning of January 2012.The overall number of partners in the PRACE Research Infrastructure has now increased to 24 countries.

The following countries collaborate in PRACE: Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and United Kingdom.

“PRACE Research Infrastructure welcomes three new members: Denmark, Israel and Slovenia, counting as 24 the total number of PRACE members in 2012. This clearly shows the high-level of interest in High-performance Computing (HPC) by so many European Member States and Associated States to the Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development in Europe. PRACE aims to be the living proof of the successful exploitation of HPC as a tool for innovation in Research and Industry in Europe”, said Dr. Maria Ramalho, Chair of the Board of Directors of the PRACE Research Infrastructure.
