Jaryba and Platform Computing has announced a reseller agreement that provides intelligent job suspension by combining Jaryba’s SmartSuspend solution with Platform LSF Scheduler. This new offering will provide customers with comprehensive job preemption and application license management solutions that will help maximize the utilization of hardware and software resources.

Jaryba SmartSuspend enables safe and efficient preemptive scheduling of applications in grid computing environments. It enables users to suspend running jobs and free resources including memory and application licenses to make room for higher priority jobs. Once these tasks are complete, the suspended jobs can resume from the initial suspension point without wasting any resources. SmartSuspend technology has allowed Jaryba’s customers to increase cluster utilization upwards of 12-15 percent delivering a return on investment (ROI) extremely quick.
