Appro Showcases CPU and GPU Supercomputing Cluster Solutions at SC09

Appro (http://www.appro.com/), a leading provider of high-performance computing systems will showcase supercomputing cluster technology demonstrations at the Supercomputing Conference, 2009 show in Portland, Oregon, November 16-19 at the Appro booth 1200.

Appro will showcase power-efficient and performance-optimized technology based on Appro's Supercomputing Cluster Architecture for customers looking to accelerate their application results at a lower TCO. The demonstrations will be based on the latest multi-core processing capabilities from Intel Xeon, AMD Opteron and NVIDIA Tesla GPU computing and a sneak preview of the new G34 AMD Opteron platforms to be available in Q1-2010. Appro will also demonstrate in detail its Appro Cluster Engine Management Software, designed specifically for the Appro Xtreme-X Supercomputer. In addition, Appro will have HPC Technology Presentations, give aways and a chance to race in a Renault Formula 1 car simulator!

Appro products to be displayed at the SC09 Exposition include:

Appro Xtreme-X1 Supercomputer running Appro Cluster Engine (ACE) Management Software
The Appro Xtreme-X1 combines high performance computing with high availability and reliability features in a balanced system architecture supported by ACE.  ACE is designed to manage large numbers of independent physical computers connected together to function as a single computing system. This robust remote management software suite includes network, server, cluster and storage management.

Appro HyperPower GPU Performance Clusters

The Appro HyperPower Cluster is a hybrid solution based on NVIDIA Tesla GPUs and Intel Xeon processors including professional services and cluster management options. It supports 304 CPU/18,240 GPU cores with 78TF single precision/6.56TF double precision GPU performance in a 42U standard rack configuration.

Appro HyperGreen Clusters based on GreenBlade System

Appro HyperGreen is a fully integrated cluster solution. It provides performance scalability, density and energy efficiency at a competitive price. It features up to 80 GreenBlade nodes, with 640 processing cores per 42U rack cabinet combined with professional services and cluster management options.

Sneak Preview on Next Generation Servers

Appro will showcase a technology sample of the Appro 1143H server based on the upcoming AMD Opteron 6100 series processors (code-name Magny-Cour) G34 socket systems. Appro will also demonstrate a new 1U server based on Intel Xeon processor 5500 series with two independent dual socket/18 DIMM nodes in a 1U chassis offering high memory capacity and flexible I/O capability for a broad range of HPC applications. In addition, Appro will also unveil its next generation GPU blade system based on NVIDIA Tesla computing technologies.
