ScaleMP is announcing today the support for Appro GreenBlade server, gB222X featuring the new Intel Xeon processor. vSMP Foundation and the GreenBlade server deliver a versatile, high performance solution optimized for High Performance Computing (HPC) environments.

vSMP Foundation aggregates multiple industry-standard off-the-shelf x86 servers (rack mounted or blade systems) into one single virtual high-end system for the High-Performance Computing (HPC) market. vSMP Foundation provides customers with an alternative to traditional expensive symmetrical multiprocessor (SMP) systems and also offers simplified clustering infrastructure with a single operating system. It supports aggregation of up to 16 servers into a single virtual SMP system, providing customers with:

• Up to 4 TB of shared memory for large memory requirements
• Up to 128 cores virtual SMP, proven scalability and record-breaking memory bandwidth
• Ease of use and lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for applications, with simplified cluster management and storage architecture

The Appro GrenBlade System is a flexible, modular, energy-efficient computing platform offering 10 blade servers/20 processors in a 5U form factor. It is ideal for scaling out high capacity computing starting from small to mid-size deployments. It also provides a complete start-up package offering the performance-density, energy-efficiency and the best savings to grow a business. The gB222X blade features the latest Intel Xeon Processor 5500 series and DDR-3 memory. The Appro GreenBlade System is a solution in a box.
