Group Logic has announced Quantum Corp., the leading global specialist in backup, recovery and archive, selected Group Logic to deliver a new product for its StorNext data management solution, strengthening Quantum's product portfolio for Apple enterprise customers.

The Group Logic LAN Client for StorNext, available this month, gives desktop clients running the Mac OS X platform native access via a local area network (LAN) to StorNext's high-performance shared file and archiving solution.

As Apple makes sweeping inroads in the enterprise both through corporate platform standardization and the consumerization of IT, heterogeneous environments composed of both Mac and Windows infrastructure are increasingly the norm. The partnership between Group Logic and Quantum addresses the growing need for greater storage capacity and higher performance file storage and archiving that effortlessly integrates multi-platform corporate environments. Through the joint solution, Mac users will be provided with the seamless experience they desire while IT gains what it needs to effectively and efficiently manage the explosive growth in data and storage requirements.
