JMR Electronics has announced their sponsorship of the prestigious seventeenth annual Slamdance Film Festival set to take place January 21-27, 2011 in Park City, Utah.

Slamdance is a year-round organization that began in 1995 "by filmmakers, for filmmakers" supporting innovative indie filmmakers by hosting a cross section of media events. The yearly Slamdance Film Festival, which takes place concurrently with Sundance Film Festival, premieres new films by first time artists who work within the creative confines of a limited budget.

Presented at the Festival will be an exciting new workflow solution from JMR Electronics and Blackmagic Design--an all-in-one portable PCIe based SilverStor storage system plus non-linear color correction on a Mac Workstation with the Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve for Mac.

JMR Electronics along with co-sponsor, Blackmagic Design, will host a Fireside Chat, January 25th, 2011 from 11:20am - 12:15pm, and a filmmakers' happy hour from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Rich Montez from Whipping Post Services, a Blackmagic reseller, will demonstrate DaVinci Resolve for Mac. Montez was a Senior Colorist at Universal Pictures and Director of Training for DaVinci. Representatives from JMR Electronics and Blackmagic Design will detail how this new complete workflow solution allows projects shot on various digital cameras can be easily reviewed, edited and color corrected all in one workstation and in 3D.
