Nimble Storage Awarded Storage Product of the Year by CRN
Nimble Storage has announced its CS Series iSCSI storage array was awarded Storage Product of the Year by Everything Channel's CRN. The CS Series was chosen for its converged approach to storage, backup and disaster recovery and its unique "software layer that adds value to how a storage server can move data quickly." Each year CRN looks at fifteen industries and selects the top product in each category that will allow IT "to do more, do better and begin to do things they've wanted to do but had no way to do."
This selection follows Nimble Storage being named a CRN Hot Emerging Technology Vendor and the CS Series being referred to as the "Holy Grail" of high-performance storage in a CRN Test Center review. The Test Center applauded the array's unique software, calling it the "crown jewel" of the system, and went on to say, "The Nimble CS Series box was one of the easiest we've had the pleasure of setting up and testing."
"Our channel partners are getting very positive feedback from end users, and as a result channel-driven sales are far ahead of our aggressive projections," said Mike Munoz, vice president of sales for Nimble Storage. "Being named as the best storage product of 2010 by CRN provides continued validation for Nimble Storage, and we are grateful to have been awarded such an honor."
Revolutionary Flash-Based Architecture
Nimble Storage's CS-Series is based on the company's patent-pending architecture, Cache Accelerated Sequential Layout (CASL), which enables fast inline data compression, intelligent data optimization leveraging flash memory and high-capacity disk, instant optimized backups, and WAN-efficient replication -- all in a single device. CASL allows organizations to reduce their capital expenditures for storage and backup by at least 60 percent, while eliminating the need for separate, disk-based backup.
