OnApp Certifies NetDepot’s Enterprise Blades for the OnApp Cloud Engine

OnApp has completed testing and certification of NetDepot’s enterprise blades for OnApp’s cloud engine. OnApp approached NetDepot for a stable, high performance platform on which its customers can run their cloud. OnApp performed extensive testing of the NetDepot infrastructure to ensure top performance for the OnApp cloud engine. This partnership provides OnApp users a turnkey, enterprise level infrastructure for their cloud computing business.

“We are very pleased to be working with OnApp to host their software customers on our hardware,” said Global Net Access President, Jeff Hinkle. “To meet OnApp’s needs, we provide an enterprise-grade infrastructure that is second-to-none, simple and relatively inexpensive to deploy. The market has been crying out for an offering that will support a highly available computing platform on which companies can build out and scale fully virtualized cloud services, while remaining competitive from a price standpoint. Our enterprise-grade HP blades achieve this end and subsequently have been certified by OnApp to ensure optimal performance for its customers.”

“We’re delighted that NetDepot has become the first OnApp certified service provider,” said Carlos Rego, MD and Chief Architect of OnApp. “The OnApp cloud engine is designed to lower the entry barriers to cloud hosting, by combining high-end features for cloud deployment and management with a low cost monthly license. Working with NetDepot extends that strategy to the infrastructure layer: OnApp customers now have access to high-performance infrastructure services from NetDepot as a cost-effective bundle, ready for cloud deployment.”

The new OnApp hardware bundle from NetDepot includes one control panel server and two HP blades for the OnApp cloud. Plus, each bundle comes with 500 GB of high-performance iSCSI storage. The NetDepot infrastructure provides the high availability platform that cloud environments need and includes:

  • Dual quad (8) processors for sophisticated applications
  • Up to 192 GB RAM per server to allow for cloud scaling
  • 146 GB, 15k r/w SAS disk per server for faster data processing
  • Tier 4 A/B Power with 100% uptime guarantee
  • GNAX Gold high performance network
  • Tiered HP StorageWorks iSCSI clustered SAN’s for high availability file storage and SQL database processing
  • 100 Terabytes of bandwidth to eliminate bandwidth risks with cloud solutions

NetDepot is the first service provider to be certified by OnApp. OnApp is encouraging customers to adopt the NetDepot platform as a fast and reliable solution to host their cloud.
