Tracewell Systems has announced the availability of its white paper, “Answering the Department of Defense’s Core High-Performance Computing Challenges.”

The white paper identifies commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) data center technology in a form factor designed to meet MIL-SPEC requirements as a solution to the challenges that the U.S. military and intelligence community faces – namely collecting, processing and analyzing vast amounts of data to inform real-time decision making.

Facing budgetary challenges and the need for greater performance, defense technology planners seek form-factor-engineered COTS solutions that combine high performance, reasonable cost and flexibility, and are specifically designed to meet MIL-SPEC standards for deployment outside the traditional data center. The white paper examines the form, function and application of COTS blade technology and form factor engineering to promote better decision making in military and aerospace environments.
