Reflex Photonics Showcases 112 Gbps OTU4 CFP Transceivers at SC10

Reflex Photonics has announced it will be showing new solutions from its parallel channel product line at the Supercomputing 2010 (SC10) conference in New Orleans, La., from November 15 - 18th, 2010. Conference attendees are invited to visit the Reflex Photonics Booth #4559 during the event to see its latest technology offerings.

The latest addition to the Reflex product line is the 112 Gbps OTU4 CFP transceiver. This transceiver supports two data rates; 100G Ethernet (10.3G per channel) and 112G OTU4 (11.2G per channel). Built to the CFP MSA, these transceivers comply with the IEEE 802.3ba 100GBASE-SR10 specification for 100G Ethernet links of up to 150 m as well as the ITU Standard G.709 for 100G Ethernet with optical channel wrapper. The Reflex CFP transceivers are specially designed to support high-performance data communications and telecommunications equipment for such demanding applications as; switch and router inter-links and data center aggregation.

The CFP full-duplex modules offer 10 independent transmit and receive channels, each capable of 11.2 Gbps operation for an aggregate bandwidth of 112 Gbps. Designed for 100G Ethernet applications, the Reflex CFP module has a single optical MPO port that connects to an industry standard 2x12 parallel multi-mode fiber cable. The low-profile hot-pluggable parallel transceiver uses the next generation Reflex LightABLE VCSEL/PD array optical sub-assembly technology. The low power Reflex CFP module consumes only 7 watts and has MDIO digital diagnostic and control capability.

"With the new OTU4 CFP, Reflex is once again enabling the fiber optic data market with a cost effective path for upgrading to 100G Ethernet links," said Robert Coenen, vice president of sales and marketing at Reflex Photonics. "Reflex has proven itself as a market leader in parallel short-reach optical data connectivity."

In addition to the OTU4 CFP transceiver, Reflex Photonics will showcase a variety of high-speed, parallel channel, optical data communications solutions including:

  • Reflex 120 Gbps LightABLE Surface Mount optical engine.
  • Single and Dual port 40GBASE-SR4 40 Gbps CFP transceivers.
  • Snap 12 40 Gbps and 75 Gbps transceivers.
  • Reflex Light on Board optically enabled ASIC technology.
