SGI Receives HPCwire Readers' and Editors' Choice Awards for Second Consecutive Year
SGI has announced that its Altix UV, the world's fastest, most scalable shared memory supercomputer, has received an HPCwire Editors' Choice Award for the "Best HPC Server or Technology." In addition, SGI's Altix UV was honored by HPCwire readers with a Readers' Choice Award as one of the "Top 5 New Products for Technology."
"SGI is honored that Altix UV has been recognized in such competitive categories by both the editors and the readers of HPCwire," said George Skaff, chief marketing officer at SGI. "We are proud of this award, and we're committed to continuing to push the boundaries of technical computing with Altix UV and provide revolutionary solutions that deliver unmatched performance and scalability to the global HPC community."
The awards were presented at the 23rd annual HPCwire Readers' and Editors' Choice Awards at the 2010 International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis, being held in New Orleans, La.
"The HPCwire Readers' and Editors' Choice Awards recognize companies that have made the most significant impact in the global HPC market," said Thomas Tabor, publisher of HPCwire. "I would like to congratulate SGI for its expertise and innovation in the HPC community, and for its technical computing leadership. These awards are a clear indication of how our readers and editors, among the most informed in the industry, view SGI's Altix UV."
The coveted HPCwire Readers' and Editors' Choice Awards are determined through online polling of the global HPCwire audience, along with a rigorous selection process involving HPCwire editors and industry luminaries. The awards are an annual feature of the publication and constitute prestigious recognition from the HPC community.
