ORNL expands collaboration with Allinea DDT

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) – a multi-program science and technology laboratory managed for the U.S. Department of Energy - has once again selected Allinea Software - www.allinea.com – as its collaboration partner.  As the leading supplier of software development tools for high performance computing (HPC), Allinea’s market leading solution Allinea DDT has now been chosen as the debugger of choice for Hybrid GPU software – where few industry-strength tools exist.

Mike Fish, the new Chief Executive Officer at Allinea Software, explains:  “Allinea Software has built numerous collaboration partnerships with leading HPC centres around the world on the basis of having the most scalable tools in the industry. Following on from our recent success with the CEA in Europe and a previous project with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, we are delighted that our market leadership is now more recognised.  Allinea DDT is now the debugger of choice for Hybrid GPU systems. We have established a technology leadership position in GPU/CUDA debugging, and have built a successful partnership with Nvidia around complementing their products with world-class tools. Furthermore, we now bring the best scalability and ease to use to GPU/CUDA that’s available on the market today.”

Oak Ridge National Laboratory will leverage the scalability and ease of use of Allinea DDT as it develops the critical tools for GPU computing with CUDA.  This collaboration leverages the strengths of Allinea Software as well as partners like Nvidia, Caps Enterprise HMPP and others.

Dr Richard Graham, Group Leader for the Applications Performance Tools group of the Computer Science and Mathematics Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, states: “Allinea Software has been an outstanding collaboration partner for Oak Ridge National Laboratory. They have the right technology, expertise, and have engaged others player in the GPU computing community of interest to Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Allinea is providing Oak Ridge National Laboratory with its Allinea DDT for CUDA. They are a proven member of our team and we are very excited to be working with them again."

Allinea Software will be exhibiting at the Supercomputing Conference (SC’10) in New Orleans, USA from November 15 -18, 2010; come and see us on booth #2305.
