AboveNet Connects with CENX to Expand High Bandwidth Network
AboveNet has announced that it is extending its network capabilities through connections with CENX, Inc. The first connections are at CENX's New York sites where the AboveNet eXchange Hub service will be available to CENX's carrier exchange customers. AboveNet expects to expand to other CENX exchanges in top domestic and international metro markets.
The AboveNet Ethernet connections, provisioned over private, low latency, AboveNet fiber, facilitate the next generation of increased revenue at reduced cost by enabling both the buying and selling of wholesale services at the highest industry standards while increasing carrier reach in the metro.
"This agreement enables AboveNet to provide CENX carrier customers with immediate access to our portfolio of high bandwidth connectivity services and extensive fiber-optic footprint in the top metro markets," said Michael Brown, vice president, Carrier Sales at AboveNet.
"This new partnership with AboveNet is a great example of how CENX's ability to support and facilitate all five attributes of Carrier Ethernet service can benefit a service provider such as AboveNet, who offers a very rich set of Ethernet services," said Eric Gillenwater, senior vice president of Worldwide Development at CENX. "CENX's high performance Carrier Ethernet exchanges and innovative delivery approach enable effortless integration in scaling the large numbers of service-level interconnections required by AboveNet."
