i-MATH seeks solutions for companies
• Support and transfer to industry in the III Meeting of Consultation of i-MATH Mathematics
• Companies from diverse sectors looking for solutions in computational mathematics.
Measuring consumer subjectivity of a cosmetic product, increase productivity in the discharge of bulk materials at ports and predict the mechanical behavior of biological tissue heart valves are mathematical problems. As in previous years, experts project i-MATH seek solutions for companies participating in the III Conference of Consulting Companies and Institutions MATH i-MATH 2008-2011, held on 8, 9 and 10 November Faculty of Mathematics, Santiago de Compostela.
CESGA organized by the Project Node and Network Ingenio MATHEMATICA MATHEMATICA CONSULTING & COMPUTING de Galicia, these sessions promote business cooperation and institutions at the university level, promote mathematics in the company looking for R & D projects, and enhance the transfer between Project research group i-MATH and industries.
The effort made by i-MATH in the preparation of maps of Supply and Demand Technology has allowed research groups have a greater understanding of the needs of industry, while providing businesses a catalog to find specialists who understand their demands and offer solutions. In fact, companies and sectors that are close to mathematics are increasingly varied, as reflected in the agenda of this conference where Germaine de Cappuccini, European Bulk Handling Installation, SA (EBHI) and Advanced Technologies Inspiralia (ITAV), present their cases to specialists i-MATH Project.
COSMETICS, biological tissues and receiving terminal
Germaine de Cappuccini, one of the most important Spanish companies in the cosmetics sector, with presence in 80 countries, participating in the conference by posing a measure of subjective data, drawn from panels of volunteers to test their products:
For its part EBHI (European Installation Bulk Handling), a specialist in terminal downloading large bulkcarries located at the Port of Gijon, a solution looking for downloads efficiently even in adverse weather conditions:
Remote download of bulk (BAT Project).
Finally, Advanced Technologies Inspiralia. ITAV member of a pan-European non-profit organization that has 15 research institutes and technology transfer centers in Europe, seeks to define an equation to computational models to predict the behavior of a biomaterial used as biological tissue heart valves:
Numerical simulation of biological tissues
At the top of the conference, the research groups will present their reports to the companies established in most cases, partnerships and transfer.
