Stordis and Dot Hill Kickstart 10gbe Storage Market with 40% Discount

Eager to capitalise on their technology lead in the 10GbE marketplace, storage providers Dot Hill and high performance distributor Stordis are offering visitors to SNW Europe in Frankfurt an over 40% discount on the cost of complete 10GbE networking and storage solutions.

“We are in no doubt that the entire server networking and storage market is converging onto 10GbE. The early adopter markets are already there, but despite a solid value proposition, price can still be a barrier in the mass market,” comments Alexander Jeffries. “This is why we have nailed all our prices down to a bare minimum to deliver this unbeatable offer to visitors at the show.”

The deal is open to end-customers who visit Stordis and Dot Hill at stand 79 at the show. Resellers can also take advantage of a time-limited offer of up to 28% discount on the standard VAR buy price and apply to handle the fulfilment of end-user interest generated through the promotion. Not wishing to disadvantage those not visiting SNW Europe, Stordis has also set up a dedicated mail address at: snwpromo@stordis.com, where both resellers and customers can register an interest in the promotion.

The complete bundle will include:

  • The Fujitsu XG2600 26-port SFP+ 10GbE switch,
  • 10 x Myricom single port SFP+ 10 GbE NICs
  • 24 x Finisar FTLX8571D3BCL SR SFP+ transceivers
  • 14 x Leoni optical LC-LC OM3 50/125 µm cables

Customers will then get the choice of two Dot Hill 3400 series dual controller storage units:

  • Dot Hill 3430 – 24TB from 12 x 2 TB SATA 7K 3.5 INCH drives
  • Dot Hill 3420 – 7.2TB from 24 x 300 GB SAS 10K 2.5 INCH drives

These two promotion bundles offer some of the lowest latency 10GbE packages on the market, and are well suited to both high performance and bandwidth-hungry virtualised computing environments. Additionally, the compatibility of the Fujitsu XG2600 with un-coded transceivers can also save users up to 75% on the significant costs associated with connecting fibre optic cables.

Time-Limited Pricing
