The Quilt Names tw telecom Preferred Provider of High Performance Internet Services
tw telecom has announced that it has again been selected as a preferred provider of high performance network services for The Quilt.
"The Quilt considers tw telecom a strong provider in delivering value to our members with their robust network and strong operational and customer support in each local market," said Jen Leasure, President and CEO, The Quilt.
The Quilt plays a respected and trusted role within the networking and broader information technology communities. The Quilt membership is made up of 28 of our country's advanced regional non-profit network aggregators who collectively pass traffic for a significant portion of U.S. university and college sites as well as K-12 educational institutions. Through its Commodity Internet Services Program, The Quilt aggregates the buying power of its participants to obtain the best value for Internet services.
Prior to its selection, tw telecom had to meet specific parameters required by The Quilt members including national pricing, number and location of public and private peering points; availability of advanced services and backbone and support services.
