Accelerating Into A New Era in Energy
IBM and Kyoto Publishing have announced that they have released a report entitled Generating Insights: Accelerating Into a New Era in Energy. The report explores how the global electric utility industry continues to be reinvented through new technologies and confronting opportunities regarding business strategy, technology innovation, customer interface, regulation, security and consumer demand.
“We have an unprecedented window of opportunity to make progress as the global economy improves, government investment increases and policy makers elevate energy to a top national priority,” said Michael Valocchi, Industry Leader Global Energy &Utilities, IBM. “The smart grid has become the rallying point for this ongoing transformation of the entire energy value chain – not just in terms of the emergence of new products and services, but also in the way providers regard infrastructure, new technological advancements and standards.”
A series of IBM authors and contributors from Oracle, Juniper Networks, Black & Veatch, Southern California Edison, the Global Intelligent Utility Network Coalition, and the Newton-Evan Research Company make up this compilation of white papers in the tenth annual Energy & Utilities project. The project includes papers on topics such as: Collaborating for a Smarter Grid, The Impact of Smart Grid on Climate Change, Smart Grid Security and Architectural Thinking, The New Era In Distributed Generation, Smart Nuclear Power, Keeping the Lights on While Transforming Electric Utilities, and Re-Investing in Electric Power Utilities to Build A Smarter Grid.
“It was a pleasure to work with Michael Valocchi and the IBM team as well as some of the most insightful and innovative thought leaders and solution providers in the field. Kyoto Publishing is proud to be a partner in creating this latest edition of Generating Insights,” said Nick Smith, Publisher.
