Appro, Celoxica Announce an Off-the-Shelf FPGA Co-processing Solution
Appro’s HTX enabled 1U Quad XtremeServer with Celoxica’s Acceleration card delivers massive performance improvements: Appro, a leading provider of high-performance enterprise computing systems and Celoxica, a leading provider of electronic system level design technology for the Embedded Systems and Accelerated Computing markets, are announcing support of an enterprise class accelerated computing solution at the SC06 show in Tampa, FL November 13-17, 2006. ord=Math.random(); ord=ord*10000000000000000000; document.write(''); Click here... The solution will consist of an Appro 1U Quad XtremeServer, equipped with an HTX slot where a Celoxica RCHTX acceleration card is added. This card is part of Celoxica’s family of accelerated computing products, and enables algorithm acceleration using FPGA based co-processing and high bandwidth communication in computing systems with AMD Opteron processors. "We are very excited about working with partners like Appro to deliver an order of magnitude performance improvement to our customers" said Jeff Jussel, Vice President of Marketing and General Manager of the Americas for Celoxica. "Today, customer benchmarks demonstrate that our Accelerated Computing solutions coupled with HTX enabled platforms deliver massive performance/power advantages for a wide range of compute intensive applications." Celoxica is currently working with customers in the financial services, oil & gas, and life sciences industries to implement and deploy FPGA co-processor acceleration. Benchmarks in these engagements using the RCHTX product have achieved as high as 200X performance improvement. “Appro is pleased to support AMD’s Torrenza Initiative and happy to support Celoxica’s family of accelerated computing solutions”, said Daniel Kim, CEO of Appro. “This solution complements our existing XtremeServer products providing compiler and hardware interface support to enable FPGA-based co-processing for a wide range of high performance and enterprise computing. This Technology addresses many of our customers’ requests for a solution that offers configuration flexibility to achieve huge application performance gains without a price premium, as well as compatibility with their existing systems”.
