The 2010 Duke's Choice Awards winners will be featured at the Oracle Technology Network (OTN) tent on Mason Street (between Ellis and O'Farrell streets) during JavaOne 2010 in San Francisco, September 20-23rd.

The winners of the 2010 Duke’s Choice Award are:

MLB Advanced Media – Fantasy baseball online draft application and live scoreboard built in JavaFX and Java and used by 250,000 fantasy baseball team managers in the official fantasy league of Major League Baseball.

Pulse – Pulse Health Intact System is a remote telemedicine server that connects doctors, patients and care facilities using the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE), Java Platform, Standard Edition (Java SE) and Java Platform, Micro Edition (Java ME). Monitoring devices connected to the patient's mobile phone allow data to be uploaded and shared.

Perrone Robotics – Perrone Robotics' Pennsylvania Turnpike Laser system leverages the Oracle Java Real-Time System to weigh trucks in motion, eliminating the need for them to pull off the highway at a weigh station.

Effective UI – 2010 Winter Olympics medal geo-view, an innovative data visualization application built using JavaFX and Java and deployed live to millions of visitors and fans during the Vancouver Olympics.

Gephi – An open, interactive graphics visualization platform, entirely based on Java SE, capable of visualizing and manipulating very lager network data to find patterns and reveal hidden structure.

Wabi Sabi Software – Introduces the concept of application sonification. Using Java SE and Groovy, the Log4jFuge project converts any program's log output into a music stream. Just as a mechanic can hear what's wrong with an engine, developers can now hear what's going on with their program.

Rolling Thunder – Education solution providing a multi-document interface through which a wide range of data (maps, images, video, text) can be combined, using Java SE and a variety of data viewers (VLC, Worldwind, Yahoo Search, etc.).

Visual Mining – NetCharts Pro 7.0 lets Java developers create HTML 5 compliant web applications, including support for SVG.

Case Systems – A solar powered traffic monitoring system that leverages Java ME.

Cinterion – Wireless-enabled modules implement Java ME and provide an easy-to-use solution with onboard wireless GSM communications capabilities. The Cinterion TC65i Java-powered module is employed in both healthimo's GlucoMON wireless diabetes education program and the Philips Respironics System One sleep therapy system which is used to treat sleep apnea.
