Actiontec's MoCA Network Adapter Named as a Finalist in CEDIA Manufacturers' Excellence Awards
Actiontec Electronics announced that its ECB2200 MoCA Network Adapter has been named as a Finalist in CEDIA's 2010 Manufacturers' Excellence Awards Best New Product category.
Finalists were selected by a diverse panel of CEDIA residential electronic systems contractor judges. Winners will be announced at the CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles Awards Banquet on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Georgia World Congress Center.
Actiontec's new MoCA Network Adapter turns a home's existing coaxial wires into a high-performance Ethernet network. Easy to use, the adapter features seamless integration and bridges the divide between Ethernet and MoCA networks for an uncompromised multimedia experience. Connections can be set up in minutes without the hassle or high costs of infrastructure modifications.
ESCs (Electronics Systems Contractors) can now design whole home connected systems around the existing Coax network, eliminating the need to pull new long wires. Solutions like the MoCA ECB2200 enable ESCs to better address retrofit projects, and the needs of the broader consumer market.
By connecting an ECB2200 to the home router, all the home's Coax is now a high-performance IP connection. Additional ECB2200s are installed wherever Coax is available, giving any Ethernet-ready device full connectivity. Its high performance makes it ideal for bandwidth-intensive applications such as HD video streaming (with multiple simultaneous HD streams), multi-room audio, home control, online gaming, and high-speed networking.
"CEDIA professionals deliver the future of entertainment, comfort, and security systems to today's homes. We strongly believe in CEDIA's mission and the value CEDIA members offer to consumers," said Mike Ehlenberger, vice president of channel sales at Actiontec Electronics. "We're honored to be recognized by CEDIA certified professionals -- and our entire team will continue to work hard to deliver commercial grade solutions that help ESCs better address the IP connected home environment. We believe Actiontec's history of building in-home solutions for broadband service providers directly translates into the custom installation business, and understand that technology needs to deliver solutions that are reliable, high-performance, and scalable."
