New 4P Server by IBM Joins Record-Breaking AMD Opteron 6000 Series-Based Server Portfolio

AMD Systems from Acer, Dell, HP and IBM on Display at VMworld

The AMD Opteron 6000 Series platform, which redefined the server market by stripping away the long-standing "4P Tax" while driving record 2P and 4P performance, continues to add worldwide OEM partner platforms. Today IBM joins AMD's global OEM partners, adding its x3755 M3 platform to a broad and powerful AMD Opteron 6000 Series platform portfolio now available for enterprise, HPC and SMB customers. In total, 45 unique AMD Opteron 6000 series-based platforms are expected to be available by the end of the year, including the HP ProLiant DL385 G7, Dell PowerEdge R815, and many others. Several of these systems will be on display at AMD booth #312 at this week's VMworld conference.
