'MATLAB on the TeraGrid' Workshop June 15-16 at Cornell
The two-day workshop will focus on how to use “MATLAB on the TeraGrid,” a 512-core NSF-funded experimental computing resource located at Cornell. There is no fee for this workshop.
Lectures, labs, and discussions will focus on the system architecture and how to use The MathWorks’ Parallel Computing Toolbox™ to run parallel and distributed tasks locally and on remote resources. Workshop participants will learn how to install and use client software and the Parallel Computing Toolbox to launch MATLAB jobs from a local desktop and run them on the remote cluster at Cornell. Workshop instructors will assist users in code development and porting. Topics will include:
· Overview of the experimental computing resource
· Installing client software
· Speeding up computations
· Increasing scale with multiple systems
· Task-parallel programming
· User experience
· Data-parallel programming
· Distributing Simulink® models running on the cluster
· Best practices
