SGI Names Franz Aman as Chief Marketing Officer

Seasoned Executive to Drive Global Marketing Efforts for Leading Provider of Technical Computing Solutions

SGI has announced that senior technology executive Franz Aman has joined the company as chief marketing officer and will be part of the company’s executive management team.

“Franz brings over twenty years of leadership and innovation in global product marketing, brand strategy and communications to this role,” said SGI CEO Mark J. Barrenechea. “His global perspective, strong product marketing background, and technical expertise will help shape the future of SGI.”

Prior to joining SGI, Mr. Aman was vice president of new product concepts at SAP Labs. Previously, he served as SAP’s vice president of business intelligence (BI) and enterprise information management marketing, extending the company’s number one position in the BI market. Before joining SAP, Mr. Aman held corporate marketing leadership positions at Business Objects and BEA Systems, with a focus on growing the companies’ brands and reach in the market. He also spent time in leading marketing and engineering roles for both software and hardware products at Sun Microsystems.

Mr. Aman holds a diploma in geophysics from Ludwig-Maximilians Universität in Munich. His field of study included experimental and theoretical physics, astrophysics and computer science.
