Voltaire Joins IBM TotalStorage Proven Program
Voltaire, a leading provider of interconnect solutions for high performance grid computing, today announced that its InfiniBand switch routers and Fibre Channel router have successfully completed interoperability testing under the IBM TotalStorage Proven program. The IBM TotalStorage Proven program helps customers identify storage solutions and configurations that have been pre-tested for interoperability with IBM's extensive line of storage products. With completion of the testing on Voltaire's products, IBM customers seeking to deploy high performance, scalable storage have the ability to interoperate. Voltaire's storage solutions utilize iSER- iSCSI RDMA over InfiniBand - to achieve high performance storage block I/O. "One of the key benefits of Voltaire's interconnect solutions is that they work with our customers' existing computer, networking and storage environments," said Arun Jain, vice president of marketing, Voltaire. "IBM TotalStorage Proven testing demonstrates that Voltaire and IBM are working to promote even greater interoperability. This is an important reference point for customers that are moving towards InfiniBand fabrics to connect servers and storage for high performance clusters and data grids." Based on InfiniBand infrastructure, Voltaire's interconnect solutions enable high performance applications to run on industry standard servers and storage. Voltaire offers a complete family of interconnect solutions including InfiniBand switches, adapters, InfiniBand-to-IP routers, InfiniBand-to-Fibre Channel routers and software. For HPC customers, Voltaire has the largest capacity switching solutions and most robust and scalable software to enable clusters and grids of the highest size. For enterprise grid computing and database clustering, Voltaire offers the most comprehensive interconnect solutions that easily integrate with leading database and storage applications. Voltaire's solutions have been tested with IBM TotalStorage FAStT storage servers and IBM TotalStorage Enterprise Storage Server products. The Voltaire solutions are available today and are used by customers including Mississippi State University, Ohio Supercomputer Center, the U.S. Department of Energy and CERN.
