Cognos Honored for Outstanding Web-based Customer Support

Cognos, the world leader in business intelligence (BI) and corporate performance management (CPM), today announced that it has earned a place in the winners' circle at the prestigious SSPA WebStar Service Awards. The WebStar award was given by the San Diego-based Service & Support Professionals Association (SSPA) to recognize Cognos' ongoing commitment and leadership in delivering outstanding Web-based service and support through the Cognos Global Customer Services Portal (http://support.cognos.com/). The WebStar Service Awards are presented annually to companies that excel at delivering superior customer service and technical support via the Web. The award was accepted by Ed Shepherdson, Vice President of Global Customer Support for Cognos, at the annual SSPA San Diego Summit on April 5. "Cognos is a world-class company that has demonstrated, year after year, what it takes to effectively support today's global enterprises," said Bill Rose, SSPA Founder and CEO. "By harnessing the power of the Web, Cognos delivers one of the industry's most complete suites of services, capable of meeting the full range of support requirements, around the clock and around the world. Cognos is indeed one of the best of the best, when it comes to Web- based services." "The Web is a critical medium for delivering technical support and ultimately helping customers achieve their business objectives with Cognos products," Shepherdson said. "Our data shows that more and more of our customers are turning to the Web for support, so we strive to achieve higher levels of performance in sharing knowledge and providing technical expertise and resources online," he said. "We're proud of our Web Support site and we're proud to be honored by the SSPA. This WebStar award confirms that we are delivering the world-class level of support that our customers require." Previously, the Cognos Global Customer Services Portal, which provides access to Consulting, Support, and Training information and resources, won WebStar awards in 2000, 2001, and 2002. It has also won three other annual industry awards for excellence in providing Web-based technical support.
