Kansas Governor Honors LSI Logic Storage Systems

WICHITA, Kansas-- At a ceremony in Topeka on May 22, 2003, Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius honored LSI Logic Storage Systems, Inc., a leader in delivering technology that enables high performance, highly scalable storage for the open enterprise, with the Kansas Society of Professional Engineers (KSPE)/Governor's New Product Award 2002. The award recognized LSI Logic Storage Systems' fourth generation E4600 enterprise data storage system, which was designed and manufactured in the company's Wichita facility, as a product that benefits the life and economy of Kansas. According to the Professional Engineers in Industry practice section of the KSPE, the E4600 demonstrates: economic contribution to Kansas; ingenuity using engineering principals and materials; and improved function, ease and savings in use. "We are honored to receive this award and gratified that our efforts in Wichita have a positive effect on the state of Kansas," said Ron Engelbrecht, LSI Logic Storage Systems' vice president and general manager of Wichita operations. "We will continue to work hard to develop products that will stimulate growth for both LSI Logic Storage Systems and the state." The KSPE/Governor's Award follows several other accolades recently bestowed upon LSI Logic Storage Systems' Wichita operation, which employs more than 600 people in engineering, marketing and technical support capacities. In November 2002, the Kansas Award for Excellence Foundation honored LSI Logic Storage Systems with the Kansas Excellence Award and two Best in Category Awards for Strategic Planning and Human Resource Focus. The plant is located at 3718 North Rock Road, Wichita, KS.
