Video, Audio Content Creators Attain Superior Data Transfer Speeds with New Affordable, Portable AIC Xtore' MobilRAID' Storage
Advanced Industrial Computer has announced its new ultra-portable MobilRAID' storage systems. Ready right out-of-the-box for use and available now through the world's largest technology distributor Ingram Micro, AIC is showcasing the first two systems in the family at this year's Creative Storage Conference in Culver City, California ' the Xtore MobilRAID 6Te and the Xtore MobilRAID 2Te.
Engineered to work at the speed and pace of the creative process of professional video and audio content creators, Xtore MobilRAID storage is also ideal for any application requiring fast and secure access to large digital files such as financial data management and medical imaging. These affordable and reliable mobile storage systems feature support for the industry's latest high-speed I/O interfaces including eSATA (Windows), FireWire (Mac) and USB 2.0 (with USB 3.0 to follow). Based on the eSATA interface, the Xtore MobilRAID 6Te features sustained data transfer rates of up to 240MB/s and is the highest performing mobile storage in the market today with built-in hardware RAID 6 data protection. The sophisticated FPGA RAID 6 design is specifically tuned for video capturing with no frame drops and has almost no performance degradation when accessing data during a large volume rebuilding operation.
'Mobile storage solutions such as Xtore MobilRAID are built for the rigorous professional content creation environment, where performance and reliability in the field are paramount,' said Thomas M. Coughlin, president and founder, Tom Coughlin & Associates and author of the 2010 Digital Storage for Media and Entertainment Report. 'Between 2009 and 2015 we expect the media and entertainment industry will see about a 10X increase in the required digital storage capacity and about a 12X growth in storage capacity shipments per year (from 4,094PB to 47,291PB).' With its reputation for quality and customer service, AIC/Xtore is well-positioned to capitalize on that growth.
The unique rugged enclosure of an Xtore MobilRAID storage system instantly differentiates it from alternative solutions. Enclosed medical grade power supplies eliminate the need to transport bulky external power 'bricks.' Featuring metal wrapped rubber protectors, the system is designed to protect itself from shock and vibration during transportation or operation. A stretchable handle makes it ideal for portability and a top oriented host interface makes connection simple. Designed for either horizontal or vertical desktop placement, Xtore MobilRAID systems can be used any place, anytime, saving both space and energy.
'Whether you have an established post production house, or you're a creative professional beginning your career, Xtore MobilRAID offers you the portability, affordability and performance you need,' said Gene Lee, senior vice president, AIC. 'Data transfer rates that allow users to capture and play more streams of compressed video for portable video editing, are just one of the many features that make Xtore MobilRAID the best choice in the industry today.'
