Infortrend has added 6Gb/s SAS end-to-end storage systems to its entry-level product line, the EonStor DS : family. Featuring next-generation, high-performance SAS interface technology, the new EonStor DS systems can enhance performance by more than sixty percent when compared to systems based on 3Gb/s SAS. Infortrend's new storage systems are ideally suited to helping SMBs create a more efficient DAS (direct-attached storage) infrastructure -- while staying within budget parameters.

The new EonStor DS systems provide broad configuration choices, and are available with single or dual controllers and 2U/12bay, 3U/16bay, or 4U/24bay form factors. With two 6Gb/s SAS host ports on each controller they deliver superior throughput power to effectively handle the most demanding workloads. The EonStor DS systems can be installed with 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drives, and can be scaled up to 112 drives through expansion enclosures. By combining high-performance SAS drives with cost-effective, large-sized SATA drives in an installation, users can achieve the highest ROI from their storage capacity -- while fulfilling data requirements.
