Mellanox’s Big Data Unstructured Data Accelerator (UDA) Selected as Finalist for ‘Best of Interop’ Award
An open source software that doubles performance for Hadoop based data analytic applications to enable business decision at near real-time
UDA 3.1 brings new capabilities to the Hadoop framework by:
- Supporting compression enabled intermediate data, to accelerate network traffic.
- High availability and resiliency features for faster and smoother operations
- Plugin acceptance into the Apache open source Hadoop 2.0.x & 3.0.x
- RDMA Performance enhancements
- Commercial distribution support: Cloudera CDH 4.x and Hortonworks HDP 1.x
- Open source code community formation

Availability
UDA 3.1 is an open-source, free, software acceleration package. The UDA plugin is distributed through the latest Hadoop releases from the Apache Hadoop community and the commercial releases using Apache Hadoop as their base application. UDA has its own Google code community at: https://code.google.com/p/uda-plugin
Mellanox also offers a UDA 3.1 demonstration platform that includes Apache Hadoop and UDA 3.1 acceleration software, ConnectX-3 FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand adapters and an SX6036, 36-port FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand switch.
