Tarmin has been named ‘Storage Company of the Year’ at the 2013 Storage, Virtualization, and Cloud Computing (SVC) Awards, held at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London. This prestigious award included many strong competitors including finalists Dell, Quantum, Actifio and Fusion-io. Tarmin was also shortlisted in two other categories, ‘Storage Management Product of the Year’ and ‘Storage Virtualization Product of the Year’. The SVC Awards are voted on by end users and recognize the achievement of vendors, channel partners and end users, and honor companies and teams operating in the cloud, virtualization and storage sectors.

“Tarmin is honored to be named SVC Awards’ ‘Storage Company of the Year’. This award recognizes our innovation leadership within Data Defined Storage and ourleading-edge GridBank solution,” said Shahbaz Ali, president and CEO, Tarmin. “GridBank goes beyond today’s traditional data management approaches for unstructured data and delivers automated data discovery and access capabilities that dramatically simplify data compliance, analytics and management – while reducing total cost of ownership and improving operational efficiency. Data centric solutions such as GridBank are the future of data management.”

GridBank, Tarmin’s Data Defined Storage solution, was developed to fulfill the unmet needs of organizations that experience challenges associated with their unstructured data. Regarded as the next generation of data management, GridBank was built around the notion of data centricity, and provides a massively scalable, comprehensive solution to leverage information as a strategic business asset to achieve greater competitive advantage and to make better informed business decisions.

“This year we have had not only a significant increase in the overall number of nominations but also in the total votes received,” says Franziska Priebe, marketing manager of award organizers Angel Business Communications. “The SVC Awards recognize the users, manufacturers and suppliers operating in the cloud, virtualization and storage sectors and are voted for by readers of our wide range of print and online publications. All finalists did well in making the shortlist, but Tarmin was the clear winner in its category of ‘Storage Company of the Year’.”
