Rapid Growth of Digital Content Fuels Enterprise Adoption of Isilon Systems
Leading Enterprise Research Firm Names Isilon Systems A 'Cool Vendor' For 2007: Isilon Expands Enterprise Suite of Software with Release of Two Applications, Receives High Rating From A Leading Independent Enterprise Testing Laboratory: Isilon Systems today reported that its Isilon IQ clustered storage systems and software applications are gaining strong recognition and adoption across all sectors of enterprise IT. Isilon today announced that Gartner Research has evaluated Isilon Systems as a "cool vendor" in its "Cool Vendors in Storage Systems" 2007 report. Isilon Systems also announced today that Broadband Testing Laboratories, a leading independent enterprise infrastructure and networking testing laboratory, has conducted extensive tests and awarded Isilon's suite of enterprise software applications for clustered storage with an Enterprise Approved rating, the firm's highest rating for application software.
Isilon has also reported continued strong customer adoption of its entire line of clustered systems and software applications, recently announcing that the company acquired a record 88 new customers in the fourth quarter of 2006. Isilon today announced the release of two new software applications for clustered storage, MigrationIQ and SyncIQ 2.0, adding to Isilon's expanding suite of clustered storage software applications. "In previous tests of Isilon's IQ line of clustered storage products, Broadband Testing Laboratories awarded Isilon with a rarely granted 'Gold' rating in recognition of capabilities that are 10 times better than those delivered with traditional storage systems," said Steve Broadhead, Founder and Director of Broadband Testing Laboratories. "We recently tested Isilon's suite of clustered storage software applications and have once again concluded that Isilon is way out in front of the pack in meeting the access, protection, management and availability requirements for digital content storage growth in the enterprise." Rapid Growth of Digital Content in the Enterprise Digital content, including video, audio, digital images, computer models, PDF files, scanned images, reference information, test, simulation and other unstructured data is spreading across enterprises at a rapid pace. According to Enterprise Strategy Group, or ESG, 58 percent of all new corporate data growth is digital content and unstructured data, which is estimated to grow at a 96 percent compound annual growth rate through 2010.
