Linux Networx Announces Performance Tuned Supersystems for CFD++

Turnkey Systems Deliver Reduced TCO and Industry-Leading Application Throughput: Linux Networx, The Linux Supercomputing Company, today announced the availability of the LS-P Performance Tuned Supersystem for Metacomp Technologies' CFD++. The LS-P Series of turnkey, production-ready systems delivers industry-leading application throughput and significant reductions in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for leading product design applications. In customer environments LS-P systems demonstrated a 20+ percent reduction in TCO and improved application throughput by up to a factor of 10. Linux Networx is a leading provider of Linux Supercomputers in the aerospace industry, serving more then ten of the leading aerospace vendors with systems specifically designed to drive the unique computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and visualization requirements of this industry. The company has delivered over 12,000 compute nodes dedicated to aerospace-specific CFD computations and visualization, driving new levels of performance and throughput. The LS-P for CFD++ is the latest demonstration of Linux Networx' commitment to provide aerospace customers with Linux Supersystems that deliver unmatched price/performance value, while accelerating time-to-productivity. In aerospace customer benchmarks, the LS-P for CFD++ demonstrates up to 20 percent performance improvement over comparable competitive systems. The state-of-the-art supercomputing system is ready for production within days of delivery. As a turnkey system, the LS-P for CFD++ eliminates the customer time and expense associated with installing, integrating and tuning application software, as well as hardware and system software integration and tuning. "Linux Networx' experience with CFD++, an essential aerospace code, is unmatched among Linux supercomputing vendors," said Robert (Bo) Ewald, CEO of Linux Networx. "The LS-P for CFD++ leverages this expertise to provide aerospace organizations with a high performance, production-ready system, allowing engineers to focus on sophisticated design problems versus systems deployment and management." The LS-P for CFD++ is the latest in the LS-P Series of Linux Supersystems. Each LS-P features best-of-breed supercomputing architectures and leverages proven compute, storage and visualization components. Every hardware platform is configured to power the specific performance demands of individual supercomputing applications. A tightly integrated suite of performance tuned system software enhances system throughput and utilization. The system software stack is specifically tuned by Linux Networx experts to drive optimum performance for select industry and custom applications. Clusterworx systems management is included with each LS-P, driving increased system utilization and availability while reducing management complexity and cost. LS-P performance tuned systems for ABAQUS, ANSYS Standard, LS-Dyna and Star-CD are currently available. These systems demonstrate up to 40% faster performance on industry-standard benchmarks. LS-P systems for FLUENT and other industry applications will be available in the first half of 2007. Linux Networx will be demonstrating its solutions in booth 420 at the 45th American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit from January 8th - 11th at the Grand Sierra Resort Hotel in Reno, Nevada.
