International Turnkey Systems Selects IONA for SOA Enablement

Adoption of IONA’S Artix Accelerates Critical Multi-technology Interoperability: IONA Technologies, a world leader in high-performance Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) infrastructure solutions for mission-critical IT environments, today announced that International Turnkey Systems (ITS), has selected Artix, IONA’s extensible Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) to deliver Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) enablement to its family of products. ITS is a leading provider of cutting-edge integrated information technology solutions to a wide spectrum of industries and government entities across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. ITS has a proven track record of delivering mission-critical systems to the financial services and telecommunications industries, both traditionally strong markets for IONA’s solutions. ITS has long relied on Orbix, IONA’s CORBA-based family of products, to provide standards-based connectivity for applications deployed in performance demanding environments at both customer sites and in their own enterprise. As their customers’ IT environments became more complex through the introduction of new technologies, including those based on Web services, ITS turned to IONA’s Artix to meet their customers’ evolving needs. “IONA has been a trusted partner for a number of years and our use of their highly extensible Artix ESB enables us to not only expand our relationship but also be better prepared to meet existing and future customer needs while minimizing development costs,” explained Mohamed Zaki, Assistant General Manager of International Turnkey Systems ITS. “Because Artix enables wider connectivity between disparate technologies, we are well prepared to address new customer opportunities and ultimately speed the adoption of all our solutions.” Artix provides ITS with a distributed, technology-agnostic ESB that enables the company’s solutions to be deployed incrementally in any customer environment, independent of existing IT infrastructure and without requiring custom interface development. Additionally, the tight integration and interoperability between Artix and Orbix means that ITS can easily add the functionality their clients are demanding without incurring the significant costs or delays associated with reengineering their platform. “Our work with ITS is a perfect example of how Artix can help companies generate greater ROI from existing and future assets, streamline and modernize their IT systems, and at the same time reduce total operating costs,” said Larry Alston, vice president Marketing and Product Management, IONA. “ITS customers want a SOA infrastructure which allows incremental adoption and is technology neutral across application platforms and we look forward to working closely with ITS in the future to best meet their customers’ SOA infrastructure needs.”
