InterSystems Awarded $14.7 Million Contract
InterSystems Corporation today announced it has been selected to provide its CACHÉ post-relational database software for the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD), Health Affairs, Composite HealthCare System (CHCS). The contract, with an initial value of approximately $14.7 million, includes option periods which, if exercised, will bring the cumulative value to an estimated $63 million. The leading database provider in healthcare, InterSystems develops and markets the CACHÉ post-relational database and Ensemble rapid integration software. “InterSystems has a successful track record of providing database technology for government healthcare systems, including many of the largest electronic health record systems worldwide,” said Paul Grabscheid, InterSystems Vice President of Strategic Planning. “We are very pleased that this contract award will put InterSystems database software at the core of healthcare delivery at 70 hospitals and more than 400 clinics serving over eight million people. “InterSystems believes that an evolutionary approach to systems development is superior to a disruptive rip and replace effort,” Grabscheid continued. “We are committed to supporting our DOD partner in modernizing CHCS and achieving their healthcare systems goals.”
