ViON Taps Texas Memory Systems Technology

New ViON HyperStor high performance data storage systems based on Texas Memory Systems solid state devices. -- Texas Memory Systems and ViON Corporation, a provider of mission-critical advanced computing and storage solutions to federal, state and local governments, today announced that ViON’s new HyperStor line of very high performance data storage systems will be manufactured by Texas Memory Systems in accordance with ViON’s design requirements. ViON HyperStor high performance solid state storage systems are designed to resolve performance issues common in huge mission-critical database applications. In benchmark testing for some of the largest users of Oracle in the federal government, ViON has repeatedly demonstrated that their HyperStor system and multi-processor open systems servers can improve Oracle database performance from 300% to 1500%. To accommodate the largest government systems, HyperStor systems will be available in capacities starting at 256-gigabytes and extending up to tens-of-terabytes of solid state storage. All HyperStor systems will be delivered with ViON’s enterprise support services, complementary enterprise management software, proprietary application acceleration techniques and ViON’s own remote monitoring system. A unique and proprietary ViON monitoring system is built into the HyperStor family enabling very fast service response times. In some cases, ViON can respond even before a customer is aware an incident has occurred. “Already, ViON has delivered three terabytes of HyperStor systems to our federal customer base,” said Mike Jones Vice President of Business Development at ViON. “Our customers trust us to guarantee that the products we deliver are up to our Assured Computing standards of enterprise reliability, so we choose our partners very carefully. To develop the platform architectures, tools and service processes necessary for the HyperStor’s data availability and unparalleled performance, we’ve spent the last year working with the best of the best -- Texas Memory Systems.” “HyperStor is making dramatic differences in our nation’s defense,” said Woody Hutsell, Executive Vice President of Texas Memory Systems. “There is no single company in the federal marketplace with ViON’s credibility and capability and I have learned first-hand of the incredible lengths to which they go in order to qualify and test a product before they will offer it to a customer. ViON’s technical staff is fully trained to design, maintain and support the advanced Texas Memory Systems’ technology used in their HyperStor systems. They have more Texas Memory Systems trained support engineers than any OEM, integrator or reseller on the planet.” Providing 1-terabyte (or more) of high speed DRAM-based storage, the HyperStor 4890 is ViON’s flagship offering. Other systems include the HyperStor 4490 at 512-gigabytes and the HyperStor 4290 at 256-gigabytes. ViON will offer its standard 2-hour on-site service response for its customers. The ViON HyperStor storage systems, based on Texas Memory Systems’ solid state disk technology, are now available. Additional information is available at its Web site.
