Nimbus Data Systems to Utilize Chelsio iSCSI Acceleration Solutions
Chelsio Communications, the leading provider of iSCSI acceleration adapter and ASIC solutions, and Nimbus Data Systems, a leader in iSCSI storage systems and software for IP SANs, today announced a partnership to incorporate Chelsio acceleration technology in an upcoming line of innovative iSCSI storage systems from Nimbus. The new iSCSI storage systems incorporate Nimbus' advanced HALO software integrated with Chelsio's Terminator-based iSCSI acceleration solutions to deliver the industry's highest performance IP SANs for data-intensive environments. Chelsio Terminator ASIC technology includes support for full TCP/IP protocol offload and iSCSI acceleration. Chelsio Terminator-based adapters, such as T204 quad-port GbE and T210 single-port 10GbE TOE/iSCSI solutions, enable seamless integration of protocol hardware assist functions for unparalleled levels of performance. Nimbus' HALO software takes full advantage of Chelsio's acceleration features, significantly increasing I/O and throughput performance for all types of data access. The increased performance also enables new data integrity and error recovery techniques that further augment the security advantages of IP SANs. The new Nimbus iSCSI storage systems incorporating Chelsio acceleration technology will be available in the first half of 2006.
