Perot Systems Awarded Contract From U.S. Department of Education

Perot Systems today announced that its government services subsidiary was awarded a data warehouse and business intelligence development contract from the Department of Education's CIO office. The contract is for nine months with a potential value of more than $3 million. As part of the contract, Perot Systems will design and implement a comprehensive data warehouse (DWH) solution. This initiative will build a repository for grants and program evaluation data and provide the U.S. Department of Education the capability to address key business questions facing the department. The system is a turnkey solution of hardware, software, and the building of the business intelligence reporting capability. "This win adds to the services Perot Systems is currently providing to the Department of Education," said Greg Bedner, president of Perot Systems Government Services. "Our team remains committed to assisting the Department of Education as it continues to undertake its valuable mission of promoting educational excellence throughout the nation." One goal of DWH is to replace the current stove-piped approach with a model supporting shared capabilities that can better serve customers, deliver value, and empower staff. Perot Systems delivers reliable program, mission, and infrastructure support to numerous United States government customers, including the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, a number of civilian agencies, and the intelligence community.
