Lionbridge announced that its VeriTest testing division has completed performance testing services for Sun Microsystems' Secure Application Switch N2000 Series. As part of the testing program, Sun worked with VeriTest as an independent expert to validate the performance of SSL Security, Layer 7 Application Switching, and Layer 4 Load Balancing on the Sun Secure Application Switch. Results of the VeriTest performance test verify the that the switch produced the following performance levels: -- In excess of 56,000 Layer 7 connections per second and over 2.2 Gbps of Layer 7 throughput -- Greater than 12,500 SSL connections per second and over 2.1 Gbps of encrypted throughput -- More than 208,000 Layer 4 connections per second "VeriTest's advanced global infrastructure, test expertise, and independent nature allowed us to gain valuable insight and to validate world-class capabilities of our Sun Secure Application Switch N2000 Series, that enable customers to dramatically reduce cost and complexity in network computing through improved resource utilization, service consolidation, and leading price/performance," said Matthew Rollender, Senior Group Marketing Manager, Sun Microsystems, Inc.
