Fujitsu Computer Products of America Inc, a supplier of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, announced it received the Sun Microsystems Inc Annual Best In Class Supplier Award recognizing the company as a leader in its field. Specifically, the Fujitsu hard disk drive division has been recognized as the leading hard disk drive supplier to Sun Microsystems for the year. The Sun Microsystems Best In Class Supplier award honors outstanding performance, particularly in the areas of supplier quality, technological innovation, availability and cost effectiveness. "I believe our suppliers' extraordinary performance in delivering the best customer value and highest product quality played a big part in Sun's recent market share gains," said Eugene McCabe, senior vice president of Worldwide Operations at Sun Microsystems Inc. "We congratulate Fujitsu for their tremendous efforts leading us to this recognition by the marketplace." Fujitsu hard disk drives are used in a variety of Sun's enterprise storage solutions. The Best In Class Supplier award is yet another validation of Fujitsu's strength and growth in the hard disk drive industry. After releasing several industry leading products, Fujitsu recently announced a significantly increased market presence during the second calendar quarter of 2004 further establishing the company as a leader in emerging hard disk drive technology.
