SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Fujitsu Technology Solutions, Inc. today announced that they had achieved a score of 13,000 SAP(R) SD Benchmark users in the two-tier SAP Standard Application Sales & Distribution (SD) Benchmark with a 128-processor Solaris(TM) compatible SPARC(R) based PRIMEPOWER(TM) 2500 server and using Oracle9i(TM) Database Release 2. This not only breaks through the 10,000-user barrier for the first time, but firmly places PRIMEPOWER servers and Oracle9i Database technology in the No. 1 position worldwide on this key performance benchmark. Equally important, a score of 7,550 SAP SD Benchmark users was achieved using a 64-processor PRIMEPOWER 2500 server model. This shows the excellent linear scalability of PRIMEPOWER servers and Oracle(TM) database technology as processors are added. These achievements follow five other high-rated benchmark result numbers gained by Fujitsu from midrange PRIMEPOWER servers, including a No. 1 position in the two-tier SAP Standard Application mySAP(TM) Utilities Customer Care and Service (ISU/CCS) Benchmark, made public in the last two months. As part of its uncompromising product enhancement program, Fujitsu is focused on achieving the world's highest system performance, stability, and reliability. To this end the computer company has taken its enterprise class single PRIMEPOWER platform scalability to levels never before possible in the UNIX(R) server marketplace. Importantly this was achieved in conjunction with SAP AG, the world's leading provider of business software solutions, and Oracle, the world's largest enterprise software company.
