Promicro Systems Introduces New Linux-Based Servers at LinuxWorld Expo

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- Promicro Systems is working with Intel® Corporation to show its latest productivity-enhancing servers for Linux computing at the 2002 LinuxWorld Conference and Expo. Promicro is showcasing a high-density 1U server based on dual Intel® Xeon™ processors at 2.4GHz processors, which also feature Intel's Hyper-Threading technology and NetBurst™ microarchitecture. Hyper-threading enables multi-threaded software applications to execute threads in parallel within each processor. This results in more efficient use of processor resources, faster response times for multi-tasking environments, and an overall improvement in performance. The dual Xeon processor-based server will demonstrate its ability to handle emerging tasks and demanding workloads by running Rogue Wave ATS, a memory manager that reduces heap contention and clears up memory bottlenecks, thereby increasing the performance of C/C++ applications. “Promicro Systems' servers, combined with Intel's groundbreaking processing technology, provide a leading platform for Linux deployment,” said Jeff Haynes, president, Promicro Systems. “Linux has become the fastest growing operating system in the world, and our technologies are designed to help customers leverage this open and cost-effective OS.”
