Fujitsu's PRIMEPOWER 2000 Takes Top Spot in SPEC Java Business Benchmark 2000

SUNNYVALE, CA -- Fujitsu Limited today announced that its PRIMEPOWER” 2000 Solaris” compatible, SPARC’ based server has achieved a new world record in the industry-standard SPECjbb 2000 (SPEC Java” Business Benchmark 2000) benchmark. On March 7, 2002, Fujitsu topped the competition with a result of 424,206 operations per second, as measured with the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation's benchmark for gauging server-side Java performance. The PRIMEPOWER 2000 system used in the test ran on the industry-standard Solaris 8 operating system and was powered by 64 (675MHz) SPARC64-GP” processors.
