Fujitsu was named the overall metro market share leader with over 29% share, repeating the company's success from last year. A significant portion of this achievement is attributable to the ILEC segment of the market, where Fujitsu enjoys considerable success. Additionally, Fujitsu shipped a number of new products, including the FLASHWAVE(R) 4500 multiservice optical transport platform, through 2001 that gained traction with major tier one carriers.
