Introduction to New HPC Systems Seminars at TACC

February 7th & 8th THREE NEW systems are being installed in our machine room at TACC: 64-processor IA-32 Intel cluster of IBM x330's (1GHz Pentium III) 40-processor IA-64 Intel cluster of IBM x380's (new IA-64 800MHz Itanium) 4 16-processor IBM Regatta HPC (p690) (new Power4 architecture, 1.3GHz) The Regattas are presently configured as four separate systems of 16-way SMP's (32GB of memory, each), and managed by IBM's LoadLeveler batch utility. In the spring, all four systems will be interconnected by a high-speed switch, and the combined resources will be 64 processors, 128GB of memory, 1.6TB disk space -- with a peak performance of 1/3 TFLOPS. You are cordially invited to attend our introduction seminars for these new systems.
